Our fabulous properties at Vistas de Chirippo are situated within an area of incredible environmental biodiversity - plus there are a number of parks, conservation areas, beaches, and other natural destinations nearby for your adventures.  This unique combination make living in Costa Rica - and especially at Vistas de Chirripo -a wonderful experience.  Visit any of these sites on your own or enhance your travel around Costa Rica by touring with an experienced travel guide, one of our community members at Vistas de Chirripo. 

 

  • Chirripo National Park - the peak of Mount Chirripo, at 3820 meters, is the highest peak in Central America and a world-known adventure tourism destination, with hikers able to see both oceans from the peak on a clear morning;

 

Diving at Nauyaca Falls

  • La Amistad International Park - the largest protected area and rainforest in Central America, the park straddles the borders of Costa Rica and Panama and, due it its wild terrain, is largely unexplored;

 

  • Las Nubes Rainforest Preserve – located just across the Rio Penas Blancas from our development at Vistas de Chirripo, this permanent conservation area is owned by York University of Toronto, Canada and administered by their Faculty of Environmental Studies;

 

Resplendant Quetzal

  • Los Cusingos Neotropical Bird Sanctuary - founded by Dr. Alexander Skutch (co-author of “The Birds of Costa Rica”), and part of the Alexander Skutch Biological Corridor;

 

  • San Gerardo de Dota – mountain eco-lodges with terrific bird-watching, including the resplendent quetzal;

 

  • Nauyaca FallsNauyaca Waterfalls – spectacular waterfalls between San Isidro de el General and Dominical, with horseback tours to the falls and swimming in the base pools;

 

  • Pacific Ocean beaches – world-class surfing at Dominical and safe swimming and other water activities at Uvita and Ballena National Marine Park, and now a short drive north on the newly completed coastal highway to Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park with its beautiful beaches and abundant wildlife.
